Book Club with Margaret Atwood Thursday 11 February, Check page for local time Through the Guardian in England. Joining us for our February Book Club will be Margaret Atwood, who will be revisiting the first novel in her Maddaddam trilogy, dystopian parable Oryx and Crake. Her first return to the future since The Handmaid’s Tale, Oryx and Crake plants the reader firmly in a world ravaged by a man-made plague. A stark warning about our impact on the natural world, and with Atwood’s characteristically alarming foresight, the book is, according to her, “a fun-packed, joke-filled, rollicking adventure tale about the end of the human race”. Join us for this rare opportunity to hear from and put your questions to one of the most singular and influential voices in contemporary fiction. | ||
