At Young People’s Theatre Studio until Dec. 3
Berend McKenzie has written and performs his play about a sweet kid named Buddy who just wants to fit in.
He hopes a popular girl agrees to go with him to a party so that his classmates will stop calling him faggot.
It’s about standing up to bullies, homophobes, being loved and having guts.
It’s an important, sobbering look at a serious problem for many young people and needs to be seen.
Full review on Friday, on CIUT 89.5 FM, the no name show between 9 am and 10 am.
There will also be an interview with Allen MacInnis, the play’s co-director and Artistic Director of Young People’s Theatre on the show this Friday (Nov. 25).
