Part of Nightwood Theatre’s New Groundswell Festival. Plays at the Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs, which opened tonight (Dec. 2) until Dec. 10.
Created by Susan Leblanc-Crawford and Ann-Marie Kerr, with a contribution of text by Ker Wells.
Directed by Ann-Marie Kerr. Performed by Susan Leblanc-Crawford.
Margaret is holed up in the attic, in her underwear. She’s remembering aspects of her life growing up with her sister Clare. Clare is in the hospital. Margaret can’t bring herself to visit. Memories and longing run deep.
As Margaret, Susan Leblanc-Crawford is fragile minded, buoyant, troubled and absolutely gripping.
Ann-Marie Kerr’s direction is vivid, jaw-dropping creative and always, always serves the play.
Full review Friday, Dec. 9, on CIUT 89.5 FM between 9 am and 10 am on the as yet unnamed show.
